This year the Annual Presentation night will be held at Albert By the Lake on Friday 19th September 2008.
All clubs must submit their attendance list of 10 people by Friday 29th August.

Trials for the U15 Boys Western Metros, which includes players from Altona, Footscray and Williamstown clubs and will be competing in the U15 National Tournament held in Perth from 28th September to 4th October.

Application forms and the trial application fee of $40.00 are due at the 1st trial.

Melbourne University lacrosse club is hosting a formal dinner to celebrate our 126th season and the year of our 125th anniversary.

Having been founded in 1883, Melbourne University Lacrosse Club is one of the oldest University sports clubs in Australia, and arguably the oldest continually active Lacrosse club in the world.

The dinner will be held on Saturday 18th October. This is a significant event for the club and we are very keen to have as many past players join us for this special event. We would also like to encourage those who have not been around the sport in recent times to participate in our celebration.

The 2008 Senior Men's Championships are to be held at Challenge Stadium in Perth from Sunday 12th October to Saturday 18th October. Trial dates for players wishing to trial for the Victorian Team are:

Sunday 3rd August 10.00am to 11.30am at MCC Lacrosse Club

Congratulations Jason on achieving this role and your performance on the day. We know it has been achieved through a deep commitment and a lot of hard work over the past few years. During the Championship Jason consistently performed at a high level. He has spent a lot of time and effort in honing his skills and techniques, not only from the rule book but more importantly in game management, and this is just reward for these efforts.

For the first time in 10 years, Victoria is the proud owner of the Parker Cup - recognising the National Championship winning team. Congratulations to the Senior Victorian Women's Team on winning the 2008 Senior National Championship.

In an excellent week of lacrosse, Victoria remained unfeated going into the final. The Vic 'blues' led South Australia from the first whistle in the gold medal game, taking a 4 goal lead into half time. In a dominant second half, Victoria extended their lead to 7 goals with a final scoreline of 16-9. Congratulations to all team members and particularly to Sue McSolvin who was named MVP - what a day to celebrate her birthday !!!!

This year the Under 15 Boys National Tournament will be held in Perth from Sunday 28th September to Saturday 4th October .

Eastside Kings players are drawn from Camberwell, Knox, Melbourne High School and Surrey Park Clubs.
Eligible age groups are birth years 1993 and 1994 and occasionally 95.

The Lacrosse Victoria Application Fee of $40.00 is to be paid at the commencement of the trials.

A 2 hour umpiring workshop will be held at the Eric Raven Reserve Hall on Saturday 19th July, from 10am - 12noon, with Guest International Umpire, Mara Wager. Mara has several years of experience in NCAA officiating and is looking forward to sharing her knowledge and skills with us.

This session will focus on practical examples of umpiring.

Lacrosse was contested as a full medal sport at the 1904 and 1908 Olympics. In 1904, two Canadian teams challenged a local team from St. Louis, with the Shamrock Lacrosse Team of Winnipeg winning the gold medal. Lacrosse was also a demonstration sport at the Olympics in 1928, 1932 and 1948.
