Small incorporated sporting clubs and active recreation organisations are eligible to apply, especially those that target the Indigenous population, people with a disability, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and people from low socio-economic communities (please note State Sporting Associations and Regional Sporting Assemblies are ineligible).

Extreme weather conditions

As hot weather conditions prevail in the summer months, all those involved in sport can benefit from Smartplay's Hot Weather Policy to prevent heat illness. Sport, recreation and physical activity groups are made up of many participants, including athletes, officials, parents, volunteers, staff, sports trainers, sponsors and spectators, which all need to be considered when preparing for hot weather conditions.

A handy tip to help prevent heat illness in particpants is to encourage everyone to "Drink Up" and stay hydrated.
